2013 TOUR DE FRANCE TEAM PRESENTATION

Welcome to the 100th edition of the Tour De France.  Last night the official draft was held and the teams named.  Without further delay we move to the presentation of the teams:

The first team we have is Team Breakwinds - consisting of Hillary.  She tried to bribe the members of Team Bummies away with ice cream, but was unsuccessful.  A UCI investigation into potential sporting fraud is underway.

Team Breakwinds:

1.  Christopher Froome
2.  Andre Griepel
3.  Thomas Voeckler
4.  Andy Scleck
5.  Perrick Fedrigo
6.  Edvald Boassan Hagen
7.  Sylvain Chavanel
8.  Jeremey Roy
9.  Tony Martin

The second team is Team Bummies.  They are the overwhelming favorites to take away the top honors this year.  Which is about time, as their directeur sportif Ryan has had difficulty in years past maintaining a top placing not even making the podium last year.  This year Ryan is joined by Joe and Josh strengthening the management of the team.

Team Bummies

1.  Peter Sagan
2.  Joaquim Rodriguez Oliver
3.  Johnny Hoogerland
4.  Matthew Goss
5.  Marcel Kittel
6.  Rein Taaramae
7.  Haimar Zubeldia Aguirre
8.  Laurens ten Dam
9.  Jérôme Coppel

Next up we have Team Little Princess managed by the defending champion Tracy.  This year she added Valerie to her management team adding a little "sassy baby" chic to the team.

Team Little Princess

1.  Alberto Contador
2.  Richie Porte
3.  Nairo Alexander Quintana Rojas
4.  Ryder Hesjedal
5.  Jakob Fuglsang
6.  Roman Kreuziger
7.  Daniel Moreno Fernandez
8.  Igor Anton Hernandez
9.   Mikel Nieve Ituralde

Starting in the fourth position this year we have Team Daddy.  Managed by Kevin who is breaking in the rookie Asher this year.  Kevin has been know for his odd style of choosing riders off a post it note and then frantically asking one of the other managers for the complete start list so he can look for other riders once his list is exhausted.

Team Daddy

1.   Tejay van Garderen
2.  Alejandro Valverde Belmonte
3.  Jurgen Van Den Broeck
4.   Robert Gesink
5.  Andrew Talansky
6.  Damiano Cunego
7.  Jean-Christophe Peraud
8.  Wout Poels
9.  Andrei Amador Bipkazacova

In the fifth position is Team Enjoy The View led by Dster.  The team name is fitting because that is usually what Dster's teams do instead of actually race.  He was not able to recruit anyone to help him either this year and is managing his team on his own.  He was the most vocal about the starting order and has loged several complaints with the UCI claiming that he is the only "clean team" out there.

Team Enjoy The View:

1.  Thibaut Pinot
2.  Rui Alberto Faria da Costa
3.  Pierre Rolland
4.  John Degenkolb
5.   Janez Brajkovic
6.  Alessandro De Marchi
7.   Brice Feillu
8.  Alexander Kristoff
9.  David Millar

Last but certainly not least is Team Pedal Wings  managed by Unclle Mummy and Emily.  Don't discount this team because they picked last Uncle Mummy has won several Tours in a row before being dethroned last year by Tracy.  They are actually the only team to have an official logo as well designed by Emily.

Team Pedal Wings

1.  Mark Cavendish
2.  Daniel Navarro Garcia
3.  Cadel Evans
4.  Daniel Martin
5.  Philipe Gilbert
6.  Bauke Mollema
7.  Thomas De Gendt
8.  Nicolas Roche
9.  Fredrik Kessiakoff

For a refresher as to the rules.  Points are awarded for the top ten places in a stage win.

1st = 10 points
2nd = 9 points
3rd = 8 points
4th = 7 Points
5th = 6 Points
6th = 5 Points
7th = 4 Points
8th = 3 Points
9th = 2 Points
10th  = 1 Point

Daily Bonus Points are awarded if a rider has a jersey.  The points are awarded for each day the rider is in control of the jersey at the end of the stage.

Yellow = 10 points
Green = 10 Points
Polka Dot = 10 Points
White = 5 Points

If a rider crashes out or abandons the race the team is allowed to keep his points earned.  If a rider is kicked out of the race for doping the team forfeits any points that rider may have earned.

Good luck to all the teams this year!
